Eligibility for an Emirates Dubai visa is decided by the passport you hold, not the ticket you buy. GCC nationals travel on a national ID. A long list of nationalities is admitted on arrival. Everyone else applies before departure, and the visa types open to them — tourist stays of 30 or 60 days, or transit visas of 48 and 96 hours, single or multiple entry — vary by nationality. Select your passport country above to see exactly which visas you can apply for, what each one costs, and which documents you will need to upload.

About Dubai Visa
What the Emirates Dubai visa covers, who needs one, and what to have ready before you apply.
An Emirates Dubai visa is the entry permit you need before you board a flight to Dubai. It is issued electronically, linked to your passport, and checked by immigration at the airport when you arrive — there is no sticker to collect and no embassy appointment to sit through.
Which visa you need depends on your passport, not on where you buy your ticket. Nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council travel on their national ID. A long list of nationalities is granted entry on arrival. Everyone else applies in advance, and that is the application we file for you.
Most travellers choose a tourist visa. These run for 30 or 60 days of stay, as either a single entry or a multiple entry permit, and the clock starts on the day you land rather than the day the visa is issued. If you are only changing planes, a short transit visa covers a stopover without the cost of a full tourist visa.
Your documents matter more than your itinerary. A passport with at least six months of validity and clear blank pages, a recent photograph against a plain background, and a confirmed hotel and flight booking will clear review on the first pass. Blurred scans and cropped passport pages are the most common reason an application is sent back.
"Check the expiry date on your passport before you check the visa fee. Six months of validity from your date of arrival is the one requirement no application can work around."
Rules change, and they change without much notice. Entry conditions, permitted stay and fees are set by the Emirates authorities and can be revised at any time, which is why we re-check every application against the current rules before it is filed rather than against the rules that applied last season.
Apply for your Emirates Dubai visa here and a specialist reviews your file end to end: the right visa type for your trip, documents checked before submission, and your approved e-visa delivered to your inbox in time to print and travel.
Connecting Through Dubai
Dubai Visa for Emirates Passengers
Flying with Emirates and stopping in Dubai? Whether you need a visa at all depends on your passport and on how long you leave the airport for — not on the airline you booked.
Almost every long-haul Emirates route connects through Dubai International, so a large share of the travellers we file for are not flying to Dubai at all — they are passing through it. If you stay airside and board your onward flight without clearing immigration, you generally need no visa. The moment you want to leave the terminal — for a hotel, a meal or a day in the city — you need an Emirates Dubai visa in advance, and which one depends on the length of your layover. Choose the permit that matches your stopover below, and a specialist checks the file against current entry rules before it is filed.
Emirates Dubai Visas is an independent visa consultancy. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting as an agent of Emirates airline, and the visa you apply for here is issued by the Emirates immigration authorities, not by any carrier.
